Rio, Amazon & Iguassu - 9 Days/ 8 Nights
 

Gateway to the Amazon; the largest river basin in the world. Manaus will impress you with its bursting port activity & central market with exotic fruit. One of the City highlights is the Opera House. Visit beautiful Rio de Janeiro and its famous beaches, such as Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, pl us Sugar Loaf, Corcovado Mountains and the wonders of Iguassu Falls creating a splendor of beauty.
 


Day 01- Depart from U.S. to Manaus, in the Brazilian Amazon. Arrival transfer to 5*/Tropical Hotel.
Day 02- Transfer to the Amazon Eco-Lodge by bus and boat via the Meeting of the Waters, where the muddy waters of the Solimoes River flow side by side with the dark waters of the Negro River before completely mixing. Arrival at the lodge, where all meals, daily activities and guided excursions are included. (BLD)
Day 03- Jungle trek, fishing trip & visit to native dwelling. Evening alligator spotting on canoes. (BLD).
Day 04- City tour including the waterfront & historical area with the Customs House, San Sebastian Square and the magnificent Opera House. Transfer to Manaus airport for a flight to Rio de Janeiro.  (B)
Day 05- Full day city, Sugar Loaf, Corcovado and Tijuca Forest tour.  Scenic ride to the Corcovado and train  ride to the Christ Redeemer statue overlooking the city’s beaches and mountains. Drive to the Tijuca Forest, with stops at Taunay’s waterfall & Mayrink’s chapel. Easy 1-hour trek thru the forest: see different types of tropical fruits, trees, animals. Visit world famous beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and proceeding to the "Maracanã", one of the world's largest stadiums. Visit the modern Cathedral, passing by the Flamengo Park and the World War II Memorial. The grand finale of the tour: a thrilling cable-car ride to the top of the Sugar Loaf, 395 meters above the city, and a breathtaking view of Guanabara Bay. Evening dinner and samba show. (BD)
Day 06- Optional full day tour of tropical islands on a schooner cruise; or a half-day visit to Petropolis, a colonial heritage, summer residence of the last emperor of Brazil. (B)
Day 07- Flight to Iguassu Falls. Arrival, Brazilian Falls tour: Walking along the paths you will get startled by the panoramic view of San Martin Island and the most imposing falls situated on the other side of the border: the Bozzeti, Two Sisters, San Martin and the Three Musketeers, among others. Near the end of the path, reach the outlook that offers an astonishing view of the Devil's Throat, situated only 150mts away at this point. (B)
Day 08- Visit Argentinean Falls, well known as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, a panorama of rare and exciting beauty: two hundred and seventy five different falls and the impressive Devil's Throat where millions of gallons of water flow through dense vegetation. Thousands of exotic birds, butterflies, flowers and exuberant vegetation. Next, reach the Iguazú River to embark onto zodiac boats for a unique approach to the San Martín and Bozzetti falls among others. An adventure not only to see but also “to experience” the falls! (B)
Day 09- Leisure and transfer to the airport for return flight to US. or continue to another South America destination, such as Buenos Aires or Santiago. (B)
